Lavazza coffee or Alta Roma coffee - which is better?

Coffee beans LavAzza gusto pieno 1 kg reviews

Advantages:
Coffee is clearly designed for lovers of stronger and more bitter coffee.
Coffee roasting is 9 on the Lavazzo scale, as it seems to me this is what is called Italian. 100% Arabica tones up stronger, since it contains 80% Robusta - 20% Arabica. Bitterness in coffee can be treated by changing the grind from fine to coarser; also, when preparing in automatic coffee makers, you can also reduce the strength setting. Disadvantages:
Requires adjustment of all coffee maker settings specifically for this variety.
Don't expect a strong scent like pure Arabica. Coffee is clearly not for everybody, but each variety is designed for a different effect. I do not recommend it to those who like soft and cozy varieties. This variety is too brutal. Not for making cappuccino! Externally, the coffee beans are small compared to other types of Lavazzo coffee, but beautiful and buttery. Comment:
Once you adjust the strength of the drink and the coarser grind, it’s very good. I drink exclusively espresso, so this coffee can be said to be a solid “4”, the smell of coffee is weak, but the “wake up urgently” effect is beyond praise. I recommend it as a morning dose of caffeine; a cup after 6 p.m. will definitely keep you awake at night (so be careful). I think for drivers on the road it’s just a godsend for cheerfulness.

Disadvantages:
Doesn't smell like coffee when opening the package, smells like some kind of chemical.

The grains look real, rather small. Brewed coffee is no different from other varieties of the same price category. I took it for testing. I won't take any more.

Judging by the description from third-party sources, the ratio of Arabica and Robusta in this case is 20/80. But nothing bad can be said about the taste: rich, adequately roasted, not bitter, of good strength. Packed in Russia. The price tag is adequate, I can confidently recommend it.

Really high-quality coffee. I appreciate the scent, it invigorates me well in the morning. But during the day it’s already too busy for me. Bitter, but with a slight sweet aftertaste. He's not an acquired taste. It's worth a try. Even if it turns out to be too strong for you, you can always make a cappuccino, milk will soften everything.,

Good afternoon.

I will continue to share with you my impressions of the drink that is constantly consumed in our family. Of course, we are talking about coffee. This time we didn’t prepare in advance and didn’t buy anything decent, and in neighboring Pyaterochka it was the only coffee beans.

Name . Coffee beans Alta Roma Vero (espresso stile italiano)

Weight . 250 gr.

Price . In Pyaterochka it cost about 200 rubles per pack. This is not at all expensive for coffee, which cannot but affect the quality of the drink.

Information about coffee: composition, roasting, aroma and taste.

Ingredients: ARABIC 30%, ROBUSTA 70%.

ROASTING DEGREE: 4/5.

FRAGRANCE: 4/5.

COMPLETENESS OF TASTE: 3/5.

Description from the manufacturer.

The source of inspiration for the creation of Alta Roma Vero was the Trevi Fountain - a place where wishes come true. A mixture of noble varieties of Arabica and high-quality Robusta awakens the interest of fans of strong coffee, just as Nicolo Salvi’s masterpiece attracts connoisseurs of the architecture of the Eternal City. Dark roasting emphasizes the fullness of taste, and thick crema foam completes the exquisite ensemble. Alta Roma Vero takes you from Trevi Square straight to Southern Italy: fans of Sicilian coffee will appreciate this drink, strong as a burning Italian kiss.

To be honest, I didn’t understand at all what all this description and reference to the Trevi Fountain, which is depicted on the packaging, has to do with it. Coffee is produced by the Russian-Swiss company ALMAFOOD in Domodedovo near Moscow. And packaging and packaging and roasting. No, I’m not against Russian production, but it would be more logical to see the Kremlin on the packaging.

The packaging itself contains all the necessary information, including an expiration date of 18 months and a description of the manufacturer.

The first thing I felt when I took the package in my hands was a very tasty aroma. The packaging itself had a caramel smell. I have a feeling that the pack had been lying next to the sweets for a long time and had become soaked. But this cannot be. This type of packaging cannot absorb odors.

Let me explain my surprise. The fact is that the opened package does not smell of caramel at all, but of burnt and burnt coffee. For me, this is not quite the same aroma; from the smell you immediately understand that the quality of the drink itself from such grains will not be very good.

Medium size grains. Although the degree of roasting was 4 out of 5, they seemed to me just well done, that is, to the maximum.

I always make coffee in a coffee machine, so I can’t appreciate the aroma of ground coffee. Let me just say that when brewing coffee, the aroma is not strong.

But the foam on the finished drink is very pleasant and delicate.

The coffee itself comes out a rich black color, which makes you think about the strength of the drink, but again it’s not.

Since the aroma had completely let me down, I didn’t even hope for the taste; I only had illusions about the strength. However, both are very average.

The coffee does not have a strong taste, I would say there is nothing special to describe. It’s not for nothing that the manufacturer didn’t write what to expect, for example, bitterness, chocolate, earthiness... the packaging only describes the fountain. That’s right, the coffee doesn’t have any special features, it’s just cheap coffee. Oh, yes, on the packaging it says that the taste is 3 out of 5. This is exactly the rating the coffee deserves, or even lower.

The strength of this coffee is also 3 points. He is unable to wake him up in the morning. So pampering, not coffee.

I hope my review was useful to you and enjoy your coffee

Advantages:

Good, not nasty

Flaws:

No special markers, typical average coffee

The only note is that I had it in beans, I don’t take it ground as I have my own coffee grinder and don’t need it. Very often Alta Roma is sold at a decent discount, Italian style is written on the packaging and all that. In fact, the raw materials are manufactured in Mother Russia, right almost in the center of Moscow. The grain is average, small grains are more common, there are no broken or broken grains, which is already quite pleasing. Alta Roma is a blend of Robusta and Arabica, I suspect the proportions are 80/20 based on the taste and appearance of the bean. On the packaging, as is usually written in Russian reality, nothing really is written about the grain and, moreover, its origin. The smell is present, pleasantly soft, the roasting ends up being a little lighter and less than what is stated on the package, although the bitterness is present and noticeable. The taste sensations practically do not coincide with those stated on the packaging, although in essence the profile of the grain is described. There is almost the same more bitterness and almost no sourness, there is no richness of taste, I would even say, on the contrary, a very simple coffee taste without notes of cocoa beans as it is written on the packaging, apparently this is an eternal marketing ploy to add sweet notes of something chocolate so that people will be fooled and buy it. In general, I don’t want to add a hint of skepticism because for the money Alta Roma Vero is a fairly adequate coffee that you can drink and use almost every day, especially if you are not a coffee gourmet, for whom savoring and seeking out tastes and individual notes is not an option. individual value, but wants to drink high-quality coffee at a normal reasonable price. And I recently saw it at a discount at a five-star store for almost two hundred wooden rubles, which can be considered a gift. And regarding the design, I’ll tell you something sore. Well, how much can you drag Italy in everywhere, as if it is not clear that after a few brews it will be clear that this has nothing to do with Italy at all. Or just look at the back of the package

Advantages:

The price is invigorating.

Flaws:

Taste and smell.

I’m already taking my second pack of Alta Roma Espresso Stile Italiano ground coffee at the promotional price of 150 rubles per 250 g. And for the second time I’m convinced that I don’t really like it based on its main indicators. The packaging itself is, as always, excellently designed. I would even say: pretentious. There is enough information on the packaging: manufacturer, expiration date, preparation method, about the coffee itself. Looks like regular ground coffee. But the smell is overcooked for me and the taste is too bitter. But this is for my taste: I like softer and more aromatic coffee. Therefore, ground coffee of this brand is a temporary guest in my kitchen. But, probably, there will be people who will like this particular combination of taste and smell. Therefore, I will still recommend it.

Hi all!

Let's talk about coffee? I think today almost everyone can talk about it, since the current rhythm dictates to constantly be cheerful, active and fresh! And, of course, coffee helps us! So fragrant, invigorating and strong... wow! As I’m writing this, I immediately want coffee!

Yes, my husband and I are coffee lovers too! And we definitely start our day with a cup of freshly prepared coffee!!! Mmm, our eyes open, we wake up and the day promises us new achievements!!!

We definitely prepare coffee in Turk. For me, from the Turk it comes out alive, as it is cooked with soul! We drink coffee without sugar and milk to fully experience all the taste and aroma. Sometimes we can buy a bag of almonds as a snack (we were once offered almonds in a cafe as a snack for coffee, we liked it so much that now we do it ourselves at home). I recommend!!!

Since we drink pure coffee, it is certainly very important for us that the coffee itself is tasty. So, we have already tried a lot of types of coffee. And we have both our favorites and those that, unfortunately, were blacklisted.

My husband and I make the black list by mutual decision... that is, coffee goes there if we both don’t like it at the same time. By the way, my husband and I have quite different tastes and sometimes there is a war on how to make coffee (!!!). He likes very, very strong coffee with notes of tobacco. I just like it strong, but without sourness and dense.

That's why before buying new coffee we immediately look at:

1. Roasting degree (our choice is from 4 to 5).

2. The description of the coffee itself on the pack: country of origin, where and by what technology it was roasted, coffee scale to exclude sour coffee. I will say right away that the country where the coffee was grown and the degree of grinding directly affect the sour taste, so we also look at this. For example, coffee from Kenya is very sour (we immediately return this coffee back to the shelf..)

3. Be sure to look for the Turkish icon on the pack to be sure that we are buying the coffee we need.

4. If there is a valve on the pack, be sure to let some air out of it and smell the aroma!

Then, if the coffee matches the description, then we buy it and evaluate it at home while drinking coffee.

So, we recently decided to try Alta Roma Vero, a new coffee for us from Almafood LLC. Only we decided to buy already ground coffee, since our coffee grinder began to grind very loudly and we felt sorry for our neighbors...

The design of the pack is quite beautiful, it has Italian motifs on it and you immediately get the impression that the coffee is Italian...

The package even has a description in Italian..

But, unfortunately, this is not so! The coffee was roasted here in Russia, but by order of Almafood SA, Switzerland. That is, it seems like a deception? I felt a little uncomfortable at the thought...

The coffee scale shows a roast level of 4, aroma of 4 and body of 3...

But the country of origin is not indicated anywhere...

There is a Turkish badge! There is also a coffee machine icon:

A pack of 250 grams. The pack itself is pleasant to the touch, you don’t want to let go of it!

The production date and expiration date are indicated in a clearly visible place:

The official website and email are also indicated on the package. mail, which is a big plus!

The pack also contains recommendations for making coffee:

That's actually all that can be obtained from the description on the package...

Velcro was not indicated on the pack... For us spoiled people, such a convenient little thing is always missing. It’s scary that suddenly the pack will fall out of the cabinet and everything will fall apart... It’s better to open the pack with scissors, carefully cutting the top, rather than with your hands...

So, open the pack and take a look. The grinding turned out to be acceptable, just right for cooking in a Turk. The color is beautiful! Here's the coffee:

The aroma of the coffee is good, very pleasant and warm. Let's start preparing coffee: I pour four heaped teaspoons into a church (we have a 750 ml church), fill everything with water and put it on the electric stove. As soon as the cap rises high, I remove it from the stove and pour it into cups:

let's try... Well, what can I say, the color of the coffee turns out to be quite pleasant: such dark chocolate (I really like this color). The coffee itself turned out to be quite strong and dense. In the aroma of the brewed coffee, notes of tobacco began to be detected (as my husband likes). And everything seems to be good... but it doesn’t catch on somehow... That’s all with him, but there’s no particular desire to buy it on an ongoing basis... Perhaps because it’s still a C grade of fullness... it seems to be strong, but the taste is kind of watery ...

My husband and I thought about it and decided not to rush to blacklist it for now; if there isn’t much choice on the store shelf, we’ll buy it again. But he didn’t become our favorite either...

In a few words, my rating is three stars. There is no risk in recommending to your friends, they will have to make a decision themselves... Perhaps they will like it...

Advantages:

Not the nastiest

Flaws:

A little expensive, bitterish-hemp taste

Problems began with coffee: there isn’t much to choose from on the Internet, in stores there are only cheap varieties that I don’t consider coffee at all, and there is only one pack in stock. I had to take what I found. This turned out to be an option for them. The disadvantages of walking around the store in glasses and a mask did their job - I didn’t notice the mention of espresso, otherwise I would have looked for another option. However, coffee is still offered to be prepared in any way. I brew it in a drip coffee maker. And it turns out quite normally. The density is high, that is, the drink is rich. But as you can see, there is too much bitterness, and I like sweetish options. I didn’t notice any caramel flavor, and it doesn’t taste like chocolate either. The first time I thought the coffee was above average, but the second time I tasted the unpleasant taste of “hemp” - something that I don’t like in many relatively cheap varieties. There is no nobility in this coffee, and therefore it is perceived as cheap. The color seems to be normal. Foreign inclusions are practically invisible, although if you look closely, there are still lighter inclusions (surrogate or stumps). The coffee tastes cheap, but the price is a bit expensive. In Pyaterochka it costs 282 rubles, to say nothing of other stores. For that kind of money you can buy more decent coffee, for example, Paulig. True, now in Pyaterochka you can only find the simplest Paulig Cafe Moscow, but even that one is much better. PROS: the quality is not the worst, you can drink it. MINUSES - tastes bitter, tastes like stumps, - a little expensive. CONCLUSION This coffee is much better than the cheapest options available in stores today. However, due to the not too noble taste and the price being quite high for such mediocrity, I don’t want to recommend it. Look for something better.
