Ground coffee in instant Jacobs Millicano - reviews

Jacobs brand coffee is considered one of our most famous and best-selling products. The company has a wide range of drinks; it produces drinks for every taste and budget. Supermarket shelves offer a large selection of beans, ground and instant coffee. Each of them is individual and has different features, so the buyer can easily make his choice.

How did Jacobs come about?

Jacobs is a popular brand that has its own history. Once upon a time, in the late 1980s, in Germany, a German opened a shop selling sweets, coffee and chocolate. Most of all, visitors liked coffee beans, which were in great demand.

After some time, the merchant opened a large store on the main street of the German city of Bremen. So, in the nineties, the first plant for roasting grains was founded. They named it after a German seller.

Within seven years, the Jacobs trademark became the official coffee brand. The manufacturer, taking care of its customers, delivered the products to their homes.

Then, during the war years, Jacobs' business almost collapsed. But, he found the strength to restore coffee production, and by the fiftieth year the Jacobs company became the leader in coffee sales in Germany.

In the sixties, the founder's trading company passed into the hands of his grandson. The large volume of products makes Jacobs a popular drink in other countries.

Thus, the Jacobs brand is in demand and becomes popular all over the world. Every year new types of Jacobs are released onto the coffee market, taking care of every customer.

Coffee Jacobs

The company has had to go through a lot over more than a hundred years. Her work was influenced by all the significant events of history - world wars, revolutions, and other cataclysms. The life of the enterprise either flourished or faded when the owners were forced to switch to trading in cereals and sugar.

But each time Jacobs was reborn like a Phoenix from the ashes, eventually becoming a leader in sales of coffee products.

At the end of the 20th century, coffee in the iconic green packaging came to Russia. After some time, Jacobs Monarch coffee packaging companies even appeared in our country. Here, as at other factories, they produce:

  • roasting and grinding coffee beans;
  • product extraction;
  • sublimation of the extract in the form of deep freezing and vacuum drying.

The high quality of products is the result of the introduction of the latest technologies into production. Now the Russian branch of the company supplies various brands of Jacobs instant coffee to the vast domestic market. In addition, the company packages powder and granular products coming from Western European enterprises.

The secret of the brand's success is explained simply: Jacobs is coffee of excellent quality, with excellent taste and aroma properties and a fairly low cost.

At first, Russians were content with only Jacobs Monarch instant coffee, but now Jacobs brand products are presented in full in grocery stores.

True, for true coffee lovers, real coffee is far from instant, but ground Jacobs coffee, because, as you know, this is a raw material without impurities, without any chemical additives.

Jacobs assortment

The manufacturer produces blends from different varieties of Arabica and Robusta. Coffee products are sold in original glass jars, in foil packaging, in tin gift boxes, as well as in disposable sticks.

The Jacobs brand produces the following types of coffee:

  1. Jacobs grain is sold in vacuum packs weighing 1 kg. There are two types of Jacobs Monarch and Jacobs Monarch Espresso, which contain a mixture of Arabica and Robusta. Arabica gives the finished drink a rich aroma and delicate taste, which contains a slight sourness. Robusta adds strength to coffee due to its high caffeine content.
  2. Jacobs Monarch ground coffee goes on sale in a vacuum pack. It comes in two types: Espresso in a black pack and Kroning in a green pack. Kroning is made in Bremen, where the Jacobs brand was originally founded. Very fine grinding of the beans allows you to prepare an invigorating drink either in the usual way or in a cup.

  3. Jacobs Monarch Millicano. Ground coffee is contained in instant granules and is produced using the latest technologies. Thanks to this, there is ground coffee inside each granule of instant coffee. Brewed coffee has a rich taste and excellent aroma. The new Millicano coffee can be classified as something between a ground product and a freeze-dried one. It is in demand among business people who love natural coffee, but do not have enough time to brew it.

  4. The sublimated product is: Jacobs Gold, Velvet, Monarch and Velor. Each of them has a different degree of strength, taste and foam density. Natural instant freeze-dried coffee Jacobs Monarch is produced in a package weighing 500 grams.
  5. Granular product Jacobs Monarch. How much caffeine is in Monarch instant coffee? This product is made for a special category of people; it contains virtually no caffeine.
  6. Jacobs Tassimo capsules are produced specifically for preparation in a coffee machine. Produces a delicious, balanced espresso flavor. One pack contains sixteen capsules
  7. Jacobs sticks contain 3 in 1. The drink comes in three varieties: strong, soft and traditional.

A couple of days ago I bought this coffee on sale at Pyaterochka. I love coffee very much. This drink helps me keep myself in good shape and maintain normal blood pressure. During the purchase, I was guided by the beauty of the packaging. I liked the packaging of the coffee, but not the contents. Visually the coffee looks good. The coffee is aromatic, looks high quality, but tastes unpleasant. I drank a couple cups of this coffee and took it to work instead of throwing it away. Maybe someone will like it. Every man to his own taste.

For a 75 gram package of coffee I paid as much as 150 rubles. I love Jacobs, but I tried this one that I told you about for the first time. I will not recommend purchasing.

I’m generally a coffee maniac)) I can’t imagine my morning without a cup of coffee - in a Turkish coffee at home or instant coffee at work. I saw an advertisement for Milicano on TV and decided to try it. And suddenly our department is presented with a can of this coffee)

I still remember the first impression - I LOVED it!) The first cup went with a HURRAY)))

Then every day the impression began to worsen a little... As a result, after a certain amount of time, I stopped buying it..) Once I even came across a jar - honestly, I thought it was a cheap “F..T” poured in..(((((

In general, as a bank manager on duty in a department at work - excellent! And for the home, for guests, of course, it’s better not to embarrass yourself and buy something worthwhile)

Advantages:

Mild taste, has foam

Flaws:

Inferior in taste to Jacobs Monarch Millicano Ground Coffee Instant

For those who love coffee, but don’t like it when the drink is strong or bitter, this is a suitable replacement option. This product differs from its classic “brother” in the consistency of the coffee itself; it resembles “3 in 1” coffee rather than regular instant coffee. Thanks to the delicate foam that forms after adding boiling water, you can drink this drink without milk. I really love coffee with milk, so for me this is the mildest option. This product is worth trying just to compare the taste, but I still opt for the classic version of the same coffee. I won’t tell you the price, since it was given to me through barter.

Ever since I saw ground instant coffee on supermarket shelves, I decided not to go back to regular instant coffee. I tried several brands, fortunately almost every self-respecting manufacturer has such coffee. All seemed worthy, but I love novelty and rarely buy anything more than once or twice. Soon this coffee fell into my hands. I bought the smallest bag to try - by the way, it cost only 129 rubles, which is generally a hint - and put it aside until the morning.

In the morning, instead of a fragrant, invigorating drink, disappointment awaited me - no, not bitter, but rather bland. Well, what kind of disgrace is this? What immediately caught my eye was the appearance. The liquid in the mug was too pale; in addition, insoluble grains were shyly huddled on its surface along the walls. Ground coffee looks approximately the same if you try to brew it directly in a mug. The taste turns out to be about the same - it cannot be called tasteless, sour, etc., but it clearly lacks richness, as if it was not fully brewed or the concentration is too low. The taste itself is quite decent, but very faded. The coffee effect in the form of vivacity and, in my case, slight tachycardia, is present, but there is no aesthetic pleasure. The feeling that you are drinking some kind of wash, and floating coffee crumbs only aggravates this impression. Usually I like to stretch out the cup, enjoy small aromatic sips, but I want to drink this one quickly and pour something else. No depth, no aftertaste... Boring.

I don’t like to talk bad about anything, but this is exactly the case when I have to. In my opinion, the manufacturer clearly cheated - he carelessly poured ground dust into instant coffee and is trying to pass it off as an innovation. Weak attempt. I can’t call it disgusting; rather, I don’t see any reason to buy it - it clearly has nothing to show off even compared to simple instant. It will pull with difficulty if there are no alternatives at all.

To be honest, I belong to the category of people who from time to time make thoughtless and unnecessary purchases. Well, for example, as is the case with this coffee. At home I have a brewed Lavazza, but having an extremely lazy nature, I don’t brew coffee for myself, only in front of guests I usually prance with a Turkish girl, businesslike, like “I’ll make sooo much coffee that I can’t die”))) But for myself I usually I take instant coffee because I rarely drink it, only when I’m hunting, and I don’t need to bother. And why the hell pulled me to take this coffee from the shelf?)) To be honest, I didn’t even read that it was some kind of millican, and what it was eaten with, I didn’t even look at the price))). I don’t watch advertising, just like the rest of TV in general. Well, with rare exceptions)) So I, the fool, decided that it was Jacobs who simply changed the packaging. Out of greed, she tore off the sick, soft packaging, and rushed home satisfied.

By the time I got there, I was freezing like hell. Let me, I think, now I’ll bury myself in a blanket and drink a cup of coffee with a piece of cheese. I kneaded it... and then my mood dropped. The smell was the very first thing that disappointed me. I don’t know whose nose there catches the notes of freshly ground coffee, but my nose there only caught a strange smell of either flavoring or burnt coffee, mixed with the smell of ordinary, inexpensive instant coffee. And the “coffee” of my childhood immediately came to mind - a herbal drink based on chicory and some other crap, which, due to poverty and shortages, was drunk by those who could not afford a tin coffee can)))

Drinking it was as unpleasant as smelling it. No, don’t think that I’m spoiled, I just like to drink from transparent cups, and this coffee in transparent glass even looks ugly, somehow cloudy. One gets the feeling that this is not a drink, but water in which the child washed his brushes from brown-gray watercolors.

And in the drink itself you can feel fine coffee dust. And if the sediment in ground coffee falls to the bottom like a layer of coffee grounds, then this dust does not rush to settle, but hangs firmly in the entire drink. I saw and imagined the Jacobs company, which was allowed into the factory by the producers of natural coffee, scraping the bottom of the barrel and allowed them to take into production everything they scraped up))))))))))))))

So, on the “coffee grounds” left after this drink, I predicted failure and oblivion for this coffee)))))

It is possible, of course, that there will be fans, but based on what I read here on Aircomend, the majority are dissatisfied with this product. So I'm against half measures. Let it be either soluble - sublimated, or ground - natural. But you shouldn’t mix horses and people together.

I won’t recommend it, although you can actually drink it, but it’s absolutely not enjoyable. Do we need it?)))

Advantages:

Price, beautiful packaging

Flaws:

Not very pleasant taste, no promised foam

I just love coffee)) But I don’t always have enough time to brew natural coffee in a Turk, so sometimes I drink instant coffee. I tried a lot of coffee under different brands, but over time I stopped liking them, there was something wrong with their taste. Lately I have been constantly buying Jacobs Millicano regular ground in instant, but recently I saw the new Jacobs Millicano crema espresso. I decided to try it because I love this brand. This is the packaging for this coffee: As I expected, the grinding turned out to be very, very fine. There is no special foam that they talk about in the advertisement. Freshly prepared coffee, didn't even stir it. Well, okay, it’s not scary that there is no foam, but here’s the taste. Personally, I didn’t like it; if in the usual version you can at least somehow feel the taste of natural coffee, then here it is somehow strange. Yes, the coffee is soft, but the taste is chemical with an unpleasant aftertaste, at least if you drink it with milk. (I don’t drink without milk). For me, this is a bad purchase, but as they say, there are no comrades according to taste and color, so try it.

I love coffee, my morning always starts with this aromatic, invigorating drink.

At one time I was heavily into Jacobs Monarch . Then Jacobs Monarch Milicano , but I was quite happy with my usual coffee, so I was in no hurry to taste Milicano.

But there was so much hype and advertising around it that curiosity got the better of me and I bought a small jar of coffee to try. But I didn’t notice anything unusual in him.

But the other day I bought Milicano in a package, and that was because the promotion was good. A 70 gram package cost me 44 hryvnia.

On the back are the composition and information from the manufacturer. The granules are small but dense.

the smell of coffee, invigorating and pleasant.

It tastes bitter, but that's not the point. Coffee gives off some kind of sourness, and this causes discomfort in the stomach. So I do not recommend this coffee for people with gastrointestinal diseases.

Overall, Jacobs Monarch Milicano is a good coffee. it is aromatic, strong, but there is nothing special about it, coffee is just like coffee. For its price you can buy something better and of higher quality. Moreover, Milicano does not give any invigorating effect, but this is purely individual.

I will still recommend it, many people like this coffee. But as for me, we pay for advertising and there is a lot of hype around this coffee about nothing.

Brand history

Jacobs coffee has been known for over a hundred years. The history of the brand began with a small shop selling tea in the city of Bremen. Then the owner opened a coffee bean roasting business. In the early years, the company practiced delivering goods to people several times a day. Gradually he became more and more popular. Already in the 40s, Jacobs was the leading producer of natural coffee in Germany.

The company purchases Arabica and Robusta from different countries and creates blends of different compositions from them according to special recipes.

What is it made from?

The raw material used is a high-quality Arabica variety that grows at least 600 meters above sea level, as well as Robusta. The harvest itself is done manually. Different types of coffee are combined to produce a drink with a unique, rich aroma. Arabica contains essential oils, which give the drink a subtle aroma, soft taste with sourness, but Robusta introduces tart notes, making its taste more expressive and strong. Thus, the two varieties harmoniously complement each other.

Per 100 g of product, the content of main substances is as follows:

  • protein content – 13.94 g (20% of the daily value);
  • fat – 1.13 g (1%);
  • carbohydrates – 8.55 g (3%);
  • calorie content – 103.78 g (5%).

Thus, we can conclude that coffee contains a large amount of protein and is low in calories.

How to choose the right one

To make the purchase of this product successful, you need to know several selection rules:

  • You should only look in large stores so as not to buy a fake;
