Tormented by the heat, are you looking for a way to not only cool down, but also cheer up? Thanks to the enterprising owners of the Starbucks chain, a great way to do both at the same time has been known to gourmets around the world for more than twenty years. And it's called Frappuccino coffee!
Its soft creamy taste, sweet fruit syrups, refreshing pieces of crushed ice and a cap of whipped cream will not leave anyone indifferent! You can taste the drink only by going to Starbucks and buying a glass of the treat... or, of course, by preparing it at home! How to do this - read on.
What is a Frappuccino?
Frappuccino is a cold coffee-based cocktail. It is prepared with the addition of low-fat milk, ice, syrups - toppings, as well as whipped cream, the cap of which crowns the glass. Frappuccinos at Starbucks are often topped with a variety of toppings—chocolate chips, cocoa, chopped nuts, caramel, and cinnamon.
The resulting delicacy is not only amazingly tasty, but also very beautiful - transparent dishes emphasize the layered structure, and syrups give the drink different colors. And, of course, Starbucks marketers are constantly working to improve the look and taste of this cocktail. On the Starbucks menu you will find many varieties of Frappuccino, the features of which we will tell you below.
On a note! A real Frappuccino can only be found in coffee shops of the Starbucks chain, since no one except the copyright holders has the right to prepare and sell this cocktail. However, in other establishments you can still try analogues close to the original, albeit under completely different names. You can always ask the barista if they have something similar to Frappuccino on their menu, and, as a rule, you will receive an affirmative answer.
History of origin
The Frappuccino coffee, which is a registered trademark and currently owned by the Starbucks chain, is a fairly young cocktail. The history of its origins begins in the 1990s, when in a small American chain coffee shop “Coffee Connection” young baristas, whose names have not gone down in history, decided to experiment, creating new flavors from traditional menu drinks.
First, the guys mixed coffee with a milkshake and ice cream, adding ice to it. After several experiments, they achieved the perfect taste, which they included in the menu. The final recipe that these creative young people came up with included:
- espresso doppio (that is, double);
- milkshake (which was later replaced with regular milk and sweet syrup);
- crushed ice;
- whipped cream.
The next milestone in the history of the drink is its transformation into a branded product of the Starbucks chain. In 1995, Starbucks expanded and absorbed the smaller Coffee Connection chain. Along with other menu items, Starbucks became the owner of the recipe for this coffee, and, assessing its promise, patented the rights to it in a short time.
Since then, only Starbucks can use this recipe and the name, which has become a trademark. Other coffee shops have to find loopholes to prepare and sell a similar cocktail.
With the expansion of the Starbucks network and its expansion beyond America to the international level, the whole world learned and appreciated Frappuccino coffee, which quickly won the hearts of gourmets, first in Europe and then in Russia.
The name is derived from two words that characterize the features of this coffee cocktail:
- Frappe is a French word that translates to “chilled.” In French cuisine, the name "frape" refers to any drinks and dishes to which crushed or granulated ice has been added, and not just coffee prepared according to this recipe.
- Cappuccino is the Italian name for prepared coffee with milk.
How is a Frappuccino different from a Frappe?
Many people who are not closely familiar with coffee culture often confuse this cocktail with another popular cold coffee cocktail that has a similar name - frappe. The difference between these drinks is great, but in some ways they are really similar.
Similarity:
- Consonance of names.
- Cool temperature.
- Coffee base.
- Adding crushed ice.
- Serve in clear glass glasses.
Differences:
- Technology. When preparing a frappe, all the ingredients are whipped together, forming a homogeneous mass with pieces of ice; a frappuccino is prepared differently.
- Appearance. Frappe is a smooth drink that can be decorated on top and has foam. The Frappuccino is layered; in addition to the foam, it is topped with a cap of whipped cream.
- Recipe. You can experiment with frappe as you like, and each coffee shop may have its own recipe for it. Frappuccino is patented by the Starbucks chain, so only the rights owners themselves can change its recipe, as well as sell it. Frappuccino can only be tasted at Starbucks.
How to make a Frappuccino according to the original recipe?
The classic Frappuccino coffee recipe is prepared using the following ingredients.
Compound:
- Doppio espresso (double) - 100 milliliters.
- Milk with low fat content (up to 2%) - 100 milliliters.
- Ice (crushed or granulated) - 2-3 cubes.
- Syrup - 1 tablespoon.
- Whipped cream - 1 tablespoon.
- Sugar to taste (in the classic recipe it is 1 teaspoon, but for many it seems too sweet).
The process for making a traditional Frappuccino at Starbucks looks like this:
- Using a professional coffee machine, two servings of strong espresso are brewed.
- The coffee is cooled to a cold temperature where the ice will not melt.
- Pour coffee, milk and syrup into the blender bowl and add sugar.
- The ingredients are mixed using a whisk attachment until smooth.
- Add pieces of ice to the blender bowl and blend at high speed.
- Pour into a glass.
- Whipped cream is spread on the surface of the cocktail.
- Decorate the drink with sprinkles: chocolate chips, cinnamon, chopped nuts.
All! Frappuccino is ready to serve.
Varieties of Frappuccino at Starbucks
Since Frappuccino coffee is one of the most popular items on the Starbucks menu, the specialists developing the coffee shop's assortment have developed many varieties of this drink.
So, on the Starbucks menu you can find:
- Classical. It contains traditional doppio espresso, low-fat milk, crushed ice, whipped cream and syrup.
- Light, or light. Especially for those who take care of their figure. It is brewed with plant-based milk and cream. This Frappuccino, without adding toppings, sugar and sprinkles, contains almost half the calories of the original.
- Vegetarian. It is brewed using milk and cream of plant origin - usually soy. The taste is subtle, with herbal notes, and the calorie content of such a cocktail will be lower than usual.
- Vanilla. Prepared according to the classic recipe, but with the addition of vanillin or the appropriate syrup.
- Caramel. This is a classic Frappuccino with caramel syrup added: one spoon while whipping the drink to add flavor, the second before serving, as a decoration.
- Cream. This is more of a dessert than a cocktail. It contains no coffee and is made with ice cream, low-fat, foamed milk and syrup.
- Tazoberry. This recipe is also coffee-free. It contains tea, which Starbucks bought in 1995, at the same time as the Coffee Connection coffee shops. Ice and fruit syrups are also added.
- Moka. This is a chocolate drink containing -. Otherwise, all ingredients correspond to the classic recipe.
- "Unicorn", or "Unicorn frappuccino". This is the latest Frappuccino recipe, created in April 2022 and quickly becoming very popular - both because of its unusual taste and pleasant aroma. In addition, the appearance of the drink is stunning. It is prepared on the basis of coffee with the addition of milk and ice, as well as powders: sweet - pink and sour - blue. In addition, the drink was produced in a limited edition, which brought it crazy fame. It was officially on the menu until the end of April, but in fact it was sold out already in the middle of the month, as there were too many people attracted by the advertising who wanted to try it.
On a note! If you see words like: raspberry, banana, strawberry, cherry in the title, this is usually a classic Frappuccino with various fruit syrups.
Calorie content of the drink
One of the disadvantages of the Frappuccino coffee that you can try at Starbucks is its high calorie content. Which is not surprising: it contains whipped cream, fruit syrups and sugar.
One serving of the classic drink contains a quarter of the entire daily calorie intake recommended for an active adult.
Different types have different caloric content:
- Vanilla – 200 calories.
- Caramel - 257 calories.
- Creamy - 154 calories.
- With cookies – 378 calories.
As for the caffeine content, it ranges from 60 to 150 milligrams, which is also quite a lot. However, its effect is soft and gradual. But it’s better to drink a cocktail in the first half of the day, so as not to cause problems with sleep.
It is also important to pay attention to the sugar content in this drink. It is very high, even if you do not add sugar on purpose - syrups and whipped cream are quite sweet on their own. Therefore, people suffering from diabetes are better off not drinking this cocktail.
In addition, there is a preparation method that is suitable for children and pregnant women - this is a chocolate Frappuccino, from which coffee, and therefore caffeine, is completely excluded.
Ghost Frappuccino, or Differences between Russian and English ghosts
On October 18, at the hour of early autumn sunset (or at 17.00 Moscow time), the doors of one of the Starbucks coffee shops, located right in the building of the Moscow Palace of Youth, opened to welcome unusual guests. Sam Wheat, Molly Jensen and Karl Bruner - the heroes of both the film "Ghost" and the musical of the same name, presented for the first time in Russia this season by Stage Entertainment - descended from the theater stage to take part in the tasting of a new coffee drink, which was launched dedicated specifically to the premiere of the famous musical, which took place just over a week ago - October 7. “Midnight Frappuccino” is a cool, refreshing drink in which delicious coffee is interspersed with the velvety taste of cocoa and plays with the subtlest notes of mint on the tongue. It will become a real exclusive, available only in one single Starbucks coffee shop at 28 Komsomolsky Prospekt. Here and only here, Muscovites and guests of the capital will be able to enjoy the magical taste of an unusual drink, and then, climbing the main staircase of the MDM Theater, be transported to New York and rediscover the old familiar story of Molly and Sam.
So the clock struck five in the evening. Together with the actors - Pavel Levkin and Galya Bezruk, playing the roles of lovers around whom the whole story revolves, as well as Stas Belyaev, who every night transforms into the main antagonist of the play Karl - the director of the musical Anna Shevchuk and the general director of the Russian division of Stage Entertainment Dmitry dropped by for the tasting Bogachev. Dozens of journalists flocked here that evening, driven by curiosity and editorial assignments. The tasting-presentation took place in the format of a mini press conference, so everyone present was able to not only try the new coffee drink, but also find out as much as possible about the main theatrical “new product” of the season. The heroes of the evening took their places at the table, the reporters sat in the improvised auditorium, into which part of the coffee shop premises was turned (although it is worth noting that due to the excitement caused by the event, there was not enough space for everyone, so someone had to stand ), and after that the director of the Russian production of “Ghosts” took the floor. The main theme of her short story about the musical was New York, its display on stage and... coffee, which, as it turns out, “permeates” the entire performance.
The modern rhythm of life in a big city does not always allow us to take even a short time out, even just to quietly drink a cup of coffee. So, takeaway cups of coffee become constant companions of both very real Muscovites and New Yorkers, and the heroes of the musical (which is quite logical, because they are also residents of New York - or rather its stage version). At the very beginning of the performance, the audience is presented with a scene of morning New York, in which almost all the characters are united by clutching such glasses in their hands: both the ensemble and the central characters. So Carl meets his boss and best friend Sam Vit in the morning at the entrance to the bank where they work with two glasses of coffee, after which they do not let go of them throughout the entire scene. In literally every scene of the musical you can find something referring to this wonderful drink, without which half of us would not “crawl” early in the morning to work or study: in the scene unfolding in the subway, when the ghost of the subway teaches Sam how to manage new opportunities , one of the “simulators” is a coffee cup forgotten by someone; in Central Park, where Karl and Molly meet and talk, on the bench we again see these cups, they are also held in the hands of random passers-by; and just a couple of scenes after that, having come to Molly’s house, Karl again brings with him “I know you love him” coffee...
But it’s difficult to maintain the theme of coffee when talking about such a performance, because the main characters are still people and their experiences, and not a fragrant drink. Therefore, the conversation soon flowed from the rhythm of life of a modern metropolis to its inhabitants and, accordingly, our heroes. Pavel Levkin takes the stage as Sam, a typical New Yorker, a bank employee. This is how he described his character: “He has recently received a promotion and, accordingly, is quite successful for his age. At the same time, by some miracle, he manages to combine everything that happens at work with what is happening in his personal life - love, moving with his girlfriend to a new apartment. And Sam has a wonderful line: “I’m so happy and I’m afraid that this will all disappear now”... Everyone knows that everything can’t always be good - without bitter there can be no sweet (“And without white there can be no black!” - right there Stas Belyaev interjects, causing general laughter and defusing the situation).” This is how we see Sam at the beginning of the musical, this is the idea with which he appears on stage. But still, the main idea of the play, which runs like a red thread through the entire performance, is how important it is to tell your loved ones three simple, but, in their own way, magical words “I love you,” even if it seems that everything is obvious without them. Unfortunately, people are often embarrassed by sentimentality, embarrassed of themselves and silent, but at some point you may want to say them, but it will be too late...
Conversations on serious topics are inevitable when we are talking about a play that tells about people's feelings. But after a short pause, the actors “remembered” why everyone had gathered at Starbucks today, and finally decided to begin the tasting itself - heavy thoughts were cast aside. With some apprehension, and accompanied by countless jokes, the first glasses of the mysterious “Midnight Frappuccino” were emptied, not without comparisons with the coffee dispensed by the coffee machine in Stage:
“Stage Entertainment is the only musical organization in which artists are offered to drink freshly brewed coffee,” Stas began.
- Any time of the day or night! — Galya Bezruk added, laughing.
- And... we have free milk! — the actor completed the phrase he started.
“That’s why people come here!” — And we have a big acting competition! — Pavel Levkin and Anna Shevchuk summed up in one voice amid general laughter.
After the end of the tasting, our correspondents managed to interview the director of the Russian production of “Ghosts,” Anna Shevchuk, who revealed to us the secrets of the play, and the performer of the “sinister” role of Karl, Stanislav Belyaev.
Conversation with Anna Shevchuk.
Did anything change in “Ghost” in comparison with the foreign version in the process of transferring it to the Russian stage?
Yes, we changed a lot. After watching the touring version of the musical in Southampton (an English port city in Hampshire - Musecube note), we realized that we really liked the story, we really liked the music, but the visuals and entertainment - they were, to put it mildly, not very suitable for a large hall MDM. Therefore, the ensemble was increased by 8 people, a video wall was added - a huge screen - we did not yet know whether this would be combined with the artistic design of the scenery of the “houses” moving with sliders, but in the end everything “fit in” perfectly. It was necessary to look for images for each scene - it was a complex story - so that everything would change, move, because our video on the screen moves a little, but not annoyingly, it does not take away attention, and this is very important. In addition, in the scene with Oda Mae in the second act, we added ghosts, in the original there was only one, but four more appeared, all of them had costumes made in the styles of different eras. Only we have all this. That is, on Broadway - maybe, but we bought the English touring version, to which changes were made. Well, they have a photo instead of our video screen. What else... We broke into parts Molly's beautiful, but too long aria from the second act of “Nothing Stops Another Day”, introducing a conversation with Karl on the phone and dialogue between Oda Mae and Sam inside the scene, in addition to this, in the touring version this song has 2 verses, while we have 3 if you count the added musical coda.
I can tell you one more, rather interesting thing: in the English version, Sam learns from a subway ghost to influence objects at a distance like some kind of superhero. But it looked very strange, for example, when he fought with Vili, it was staged like this: in the center of the stage Sam made passes with his hands, and Vili’s gun was pointed at the owner. That is, for us it looked somewhat ridiculous and not emotional, so in the Russian version there is a real fight; in the scene with Carl, when Sam's ghost hits him in the face, you can even see blood. We don't have these weird passes, and because of this we had to redo the scene with the subway ghost in the second act - there is real interaction with objects, rather than just waving your arms. We followed the path of the ghost actually teaching Sam how to contact objects, and it seems that now this scene has become more intelligible, after it Sam has the right to hit, has the right to move and has the right to many other things. That is, now this is one of the key scenes.
What became the main director's task? What did you want to convey to the audience?
There were probably two main things. You must know the story of the screenwriter of "Ghost" - Bruce J. Rubin, he used drugs, one day his soul flew away, traveled to different worlds and then returned to his body, after which he wrote this story. Every time he is asked “what is the most important thing?”, Bruce says that the most important thing for him is that Molly discovers the existence of another world. She cannot survive Sam's death, because they were very close, and this pain with which she has to fight is continuous and does not allow her to live, and in the end, when Molly sees him, hears him... She begins to believe that there is that other world and she feels better. Bruce is the author of both the script and the libretto, and he believes that this is a very important and serious thing. Now he has written us a letter in which he asks us to redo the light. In one of the scenes, immediately after Sam's murder, we have a special light that, in Bruce's opinion, is not quite right. He wants white, pure light - divine light, so that at this moment Sam's soul will really think about whether to go there or stay.
If we ignore the main big theme of the musical - the existence of the other world and the fact that death is not the end, then "Ghost", of course, is a story about love and betrayal. That true love overcomes everything. Look at the changes in Sam's worldview: he starts with the fact that he is afraid of losing love and his happiness, but in the end he understands that love does not disappear anywhere and always remains with a person, and whether he is alive or dead is no longer so important...
Conversation with Stas Belyaev
How many times have you watched the movie "Ghost"?
Three times exactly. I watched it a long time ago, on tape, and then rewatched it during rehearsals.
Did you try to somehow build on the work of Tony Goldwyn (who played Carl in the original film) or did you completely create your own character?
No, I try never to start from ready-made images, because it gets in the way - both in other performances and in this one. Here I only looked at how the scenes were specifically resolved, for example, the moment when Sam beats Carl: what kind of reaction is going on, what degree of fear... It was important for me to understand from a purely technical point of view how this can be done, but for the rest I proceeded from myself and my ideas about the character.
Tell us about your hero. How do you see him?
I formulated this at the beginning of our rehearsals. It came intuitively, but everything is based on this: Karl is a man who fiercely wants to be happy! He just wants to be happy and is ready to do anything for this, in some ways this helps justify him. At the same time, he is an absolute materialist, he wants to live beautifully, richly, to live “to the fullest.” Karl is the personification of the modern “material” monetary world.
What is the most difficult thing about a musical for you?
At the moment, surprisingly, the technique, the need to combine lyrical vocals in some moments and dramatic screaming, that is, the voice is getting tired, it is not yet used to rushing between screaming and neat vocals.
You have a daily performance, how do you manage not to go into “machine” mode and not play mechanically, but to live through each performance?
This is my first time working in this mode; I have never played more than 15 identical performances in a row before. Now very little time has passed, and I myself am still “researching” this issue, but some professional techniques help: new circumstances that you invent for yourself, with the guys, we remind each other every time what awaits us in the next scene, You can also put some object in your pocket and take it with you on stage - no one knows about it, but you know. Well, you bring some new jokes that only artists can guess about, there’s a scene where I come to Molly and Sam and bring a bag of food, there can be a new joke every time, a new intonation that makes it fun and adds freshness. Returning to the topic of coffee, in the musical Karl brings Molly her favorite coffee, and do you know what kind of coffee your stage partner Galina really likes?
Cappuccino, probably...
What kind of coffee do you prefer?
I love double or even triple espresso!

How to make different types of Frappuccino at home?
You can only buy a portion of this delicious cold drink at Starbucks coffee shops, but, fortunately, you can make Frappuccino at home. To do this, you will only need to purchase all the necessary ingredients: whipped cream, syrups: raspberry, blackcurrant, strawberry and others, as well as chocolate if you decide to make a real Mocha Frappuccino. You will also definitely need a blender. You can use a mixer or any other technique. But whipping the drink to the desired consistency by hand will be quite difficult.
Next, we will talk about how to prepare different versions of this drink at home yourself.
Vanilla Frappuccino
To prepare it, you will need the same ingredients as for the classic recipe, as well as vanilla syrup or regular cooking vanillin. Coffee can be brewed in a cezve (Turk) or using a French press. Be sure to strain it so that no grounds get into the cocktail!
Then pour it into the blender bowl, add vanilla or appropriate syrup, milk, ice cubes and sugar. Whisk the ingredients, pour into a glass and place whipped cream on top of the drink. You can decorate the top with nut or chocolate chips and add a little more vanilla syrup.
Caramel frappuccino
The Caramel Frappuccino is prepared in the same way as the Vanilla Frappuccino. In this regard, there is no need to deviate from the classic recipe - just add caramel syrup as a topping. You will need about two teaspoons: pour one into the blender bowl, the second into a glass before serving.
On a note! The Caramel Frappuccino goes great with chocolate chips.
Chocolate and Frappuccino Cream
To make a chocolate Frappuccino, you also don’t have to deviate from the classic recipe. Just add chocolate syrup, or melt a regular dark chocolate bar in a double boiler. This delicacy will especially please those with a sweet tooth! You can also brew a “children’s” version - prepare this recipe without adding coffee. This Frappuccino will be a real highlight of a children's party!
Frappuccino cream is also easy to prepare at home - just whisk the milk vigorously before adding the rest of the ingredients, and also completely exclude coffee from the composition. Sometimes this cocktail is prepared with the addition of cream or vanilla ice cream.
Vegetarian
The vegetarian version of the Frappuccino is prepared in the same way as the classic one. The only difference is that regular milk is replaced with soy milk, like whipped cream. Finding it on sale is a little more difficult than usual, but otherwise you won’t have any problems preparing the drink.
Frappuccino dark
When preparing a Frappuccino, dark coffee is replaced with tea - or any other black tea. In addition to fruit syrups, various fresh juices can also be added to this recipe.
Frappuccino with ice cubes
Iced Frappuccino is an interesting and unusual recipe. To prepare it, brewed coffee is divided into two servings. One of them is mixed in a blender, as with the classic cooking method. The second is poured into ice trays and frozen. Then the resulting coffee cubes are added to the blender with the rest of the ingredients and blended at high speed.
Creamy Frappuccino
Creamy Frappuccino is a higher calorie option, ideal for lovers of soft and delicate flavors. Milk in this drink is completely replaced with cream, but otherwise it is prepared in the traditional way.
History of Frappuccino coffee
The recipe for the coffee drink itself was not invented in Starbucks coffee shops. Its author was one of the competitors of the famous network. He owned a chain of coffee shops, The Coffee, and his name was George Howell. The entrepreneur noticed that during the summer season the demand for his drinks decreases. It was all due to the heat. People were just trying to cool down. To maintain the level of profit at the same level, Howell resorted to various tricks.
His search took him to Seattle. There, local establishments offered cold drinks to their visitors. George was also excited about this idea. Upon returning to Boston, he tasked his marketing manager, Andrew Frank, with creating a recipe for a new cocktail. It had to be the highlight of the menu so that people would come for it. And the assistant coped with this task.
Frank used a frozen yogurt machine to make the shake. There he mixed the following ingredients:
- coffee;
- milk;
- sugar;
- ice.
Thanks to the perfectly selected proportions, the result was a creamy and chilled drink with a distinct coffee taste. And he was a success among regular visitors to the coffee shop. Within a few days, the new menu item became the most ordered cocktail. This invention helped Howell expand his chain of coffee shops, bringing their number to 23.
But for a long time the owner could not resist the competition, and in 1994 he sold his business to Starbucks. The rights to the recipe and the name “Frappuccino”, of course, were transferred to the new owner. Afterwards, the cocktail began to be offered to people in all branches of the famous coffee shop.
Some interesting facts:
- When the rights to the signature cocktail were transferred to Starbucks, they slightly changed the recipe and technology. Frappuccinos were now prepared in a blender;
- over 8 years of selling the cocktail, it brought the company revenue of $2 billion;
- To avoid being sued for trademark infringement, other beverage establishments offer the same Frappuccino under different names. It all depends on the imagination of the owner or his managers.
Properties of Frappuccino
A chilled coffee drink has tonic properties and has a good effect on the body. A small amount of caffeine invigorates and increases performance. Due to its nutritional value, cream gives a boost of energy. One serving of the cocktail contains approximately 400 kcal. For some, this is a complete meal.
Calorie content of the drink
But you shouldn’t overuse the cocktail. It is enough to enjoy it once a day. One serving contains 60-150 g of caffeine, which doctors do not recommend getting carried away with. Heavy cream, milk, and sugar can also raise blood glucose levels.
Comparison of the energy value of some types of Frappuccino per 100 grams of product:
- vanilla 200 kcal;
- coffee with cookies 378 kcal;
- caramel 257 kcal;
- creamy 154 kcal.
At the same time, one serving contains 450-470 ml of Frappuccino coffee. This increases its nutritional value.
To reduce calories, some people choose small glasses that hold only 250 ml. But there are other ways to make a cocktail more dietary:
- Instead of regular milk, use skim, coconut or soy milk;
- cream is replaced with soy product;
- remove sugar, leave only syrup.
How to drink a Frappuccino?
It is very important to drink your Frappuccino as soon as it is prepared. After all, the distinctive feature of this drink, which influences its taste, is its consistency. The pieces of ice that are present in crumbs in a glass of cocktail should not have time to melt, otherwise the drink will become too watery.
In addition, frappuccinos are drunk without stirring to preserve their flaky texture. Whipped cream topping a glass of coffee is eaten with a spoon.
It is better to drink Frappuccino in the first half of the day due to the high caffeine content in the composition. Usually it is not combined with other dishes - it is already quite nutritious.
Calorie content
People watching their figure should take into account that Frappuccino is a high-calorie drink. One serving contains about 400 calories, that is, almost a fifth of a person's daily requirement.
In addition, it is worth considering the amount of caffeine, its content is approximately 60-150 mg. Although due to the addition of milk and granulated sugar to the cocktail, the indicator decreases slightly.
Doctors do not recommend drinking more than one frappuccino per day, as this can negatively affect your health.
How to preserve the taste of the drink?
To make your Frappuccino as tasty as possible, follow these recommendations:
- Use chilled coffee in which the ice will not melt. It is advisable to let the coffee cool at room temperature. You can cool it in the refrigerator - but not in the freezer!
- Pour the Frappuccino into a cold container.
- For rich, flavorful coffee, use freshly roasted beans. It is best to grind them immediately before brewing the drink - this way they will not have time to fizzle out.
- Be careful with sugar! Syrup and whipped cream combined with sugar can ruin the taste of the drink, making it overly sweet.
On a note! The fattier the milk, the milder the taste of the cocktail.
Main varieties
Since 2002, Starbucks has introduced a new type of Frappuccino in the spring. At the same time, tastes are selected taking into account modern trends. During the launch period, anyone can enjoy such new products as a unicorn Frappuccino with edible glitter or a drink painted in the colors of the new Joker.
To create new products, various toppings, syrups and other additives are used. This is how the dessert acquires a unique taste. But there is a timeless classic that is always popular.
Easy
Suitable for those who are watching their figure, but cannot give up coffee. To prepare it, use skim milk or a cream substitute. In this case, the percentage of fat content will be minimal. Thus, the calorie content of the drink is reduced by almost half compared to the classic version, the fat content is 15% less, and the carbohydrate content is 52% less.
How to serve a Frappuccino?
It’s not enough to prepare a Frappuccino correctly—you also need to be able to serve it beautifully.
Baristas at Starbucks know this very well, so they traditionally use transparent glassware for this cocktail - tall glasses for latte macchiato if you drink a Frappuccino right in the coffee shop, or plastic glasses with a convex lid and a branded logo if you order the drink to go. A straw must be included with the Frappuccino - this cocktail is not drunk “over the edge”.
On a note! The volume of glassware for Frappuccino is usually from 300 to 500 milligrams.
If you're brewing at home, you'll get more enjoyment out of it if you pour the cocktail into a tall, clear glass.
Important! The Frappuccino glass should be cold - it is advisable to put it in the freezer for a few minutes.
How and in what is Frappuccino served?
The drink is served in a tall glass glass with a straw. It is easy to determine whether it is prepared correctly - the finished cocktail should have small ice cubes.
Since Frappuccino is highly nutritious, it is served as a separate dish. You need to drink it immediately after preparation through a straw. If it sits for a while, it will become liquid, as the ice begins to melt, and then you won’t feel the main highlight.
It is best to take transparent dishes; serving such a drink in it is much more impressive and appetizing.
Frappuccino is a cooling, healthy drink that quenches thirst well. Thanks to the large number of types, it is so popular, because each client can choose a drink to suit their taste. Therefore, do not be afraid to order it in coffee shops and make it yourself; do not deny yourself the pleasure of enjoying its bright taste on a hot day.
Cost of Frappuccino at Starbucks
A Frappuccino at Starbucks can cost differently depending on the recipe. Prices start at 200 rubles, and their limit is 400-450 rubles.
Frappuccino is a great remedy against heat and drowsiness! The high caffeine content and its soft, incomparable creamy and fruity taste will appeal to gourmets and those with a sweet tooth. Thanks to this cold cocktail, coffee lovers won't have to choose between their favorite coffee and cold drinks in hot weather. To try this delicacy, be sure to visit a Starbucks coffee shop, and then try to repeat their recipe at home!
