  • ground coffee (medium grind) - 4 tsp. without slide;
  • water - 200 ml;
  • salt - 2 pinches;
  • sugar, milk, cinnamon, cardamom or other additives - to taste.

Prepare a small enamel pan and follow the technology:

  1. Wash the pan and wipe dry with a napkin.
  2. Pour in water. Bring to a boil, remove from heat, cool slightly.
  3. Stir the water in the center with a spoon to create a funnel. At the same time add coffee and other bulk substances, except sugar.
  4. Place the pan over low heat, do not stir the contents.
  5. Brew the coffee until foam appears (2-3 minutes). Do not bring to a boil so as not to lose the flavor.

How to properly brew coffee without a Turk?

To make your coffee drink as thick and aromatic as Turkish coffee, you should follow simple rules :

  1. Choose the correct grind level . Fine and ultra-fine grinding is only suitable for Turkish grinding. When using other cooking methods, preference should be given to medium grinding.
  2. Use bottled or filtered water . A coffee drink prepared with hard tap water will be tasteless and unflavoured.
  3. Do not boil or brew with boiling water . Coffee does not tolerate high temperatures - when it boils, it loses not only its taste, but also its benefits. The optimal water temperature is 91-96°C, which corresponds to the temperature of boiling water that has cooled for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Choose the narrowest pan, cup or ladle . To prevent it from losing its aroma during the preparation process, the area of contact between coffee and air should be minimal.
  5. Remove extraneous odors from dishes . Before brewing, you need to boil water in a container or pour boiling water over the container. Preference should be given to enamel cookware - enamel practically does not accumulate odors from previously prepared food.
  6. Use dishes with thick walls and bottom . Thick-walled containers retain heat longer and brew better.

The best coffee for making a drink is freshly ground .
If it is not possible to purchase whole grains and grind them before brewing, you can buy ground in packs. Preference should be given to grains packed in vacuum briquettes - in such packaging the product is protected from exposure to oxygen and sunlight, and can be stored without loss of quality for up to 18 months. After opening the package, the ground powder should be stored in a tightly sealed glass jar .

Important! It is also necessary to monitor the shelf life of the product - over time, coffee “fizzles out”, old raw materials turn out to be sour and not at all aromatic.

Coffee in a ceramic pot

To prepare delicious coffee, use a small ceramic pot (for 1-2 servings), otherwise it will be difficult to preserve the aroma of coffee beans.

Required ingredients:

  • ground coffee (medium grind) - 30 g (2 tsp);
  • water - 200 ml;
  • cinnamon, cardamom, other additives - to taste.

Prepare coffee like this:

  1. Fill the pot with boiling water to warm for a few minutes, drain the water.
  2. Pour coffee into a vessel and fill it with hot water (70−80 °C).
  3. Place the container on low heat and keep it until a head of foam appears.
  4. Stir the drink. Without bringing to a boil, remove from heat.
  5. Pour the drink into cups, raising the pot a little higher to create foam. Add sugar, cream or milk, and spices to your coffee to suit your taste.

In the East, cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg are added to coffee. European coffee preparation technologies allow you to add hazelnut, almond, cashew or pistachio powder, as well as vanilla essence or zest, to the drink. Interesting fact: spices can neutralize the harmful effects of coffee on the nervous system, heart and other organs.

What to do to preserve the taste of coffee

The problem with cooking without special utensils is that the aroma and taste of the drink is lost. Therefore, it is worth using a few tricks that will help you understand how to properly brew coffee without a Turk:

  • If you use grains rather than the ground version, then it is better to fill them with cold water and cook evenly. Then the taste and aroma will be deep and the substance will definitely brew.
  • To make a caffeine-free drink at home, add 2-3 cardamom seeds. The taste will become soft and spicy.
  • Brew a drink with a “fried note.” The grains or powder are first fried for half a minute in the same container where they will be brewed.
  • "Velvet notes." To obtain the effect, add butter to the dishes. If you use a coffee maker or coffee machine for preparation, then you should not do this - the equipment will deteriorate.
  • "Spicy treat." Replace standard sugar with spices. This is cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg. The technology is simple: mix ground grains with spices and heat, as soon as the aroma becomes intense, pour in water and continue cooking.

If the recommendations are taken into account and implemented, then expensive coffee makers and coffee machines are not needed.

At home, you can do without using special utensils if you want natural coffee once a year. The use of improvised devices will not affect the cooking process in any way. If you decide on the type of cookware and recipe, then you definitely won’t have any problems preparing a delicious drink.

Features of quick preparation of coffee drink

Quick and easy cooking can take place in one of two ways: in a saucepan or in a kettle

  1. First, take water (160-170 milliliters) and place a small saucepan to boil. Next, get a quality ceramic cup. It is not advisable to use cups made of any other materials. It is recommended to place the cup on the pan so that it warms up a little.
  2. What to do if you don’t have a special pan at home? In this case, you can use a regular electric kettle and first pour boiling water into the ceramic cup so that it warms up.

You need to understand that both options are suitable. In this case, ground coffee brews better in a warm cup. Remember this nuance.

How to boil water

In this case, the water must be boiled correctly even the first time. It is not advisable to let water boil for too long, as the boiling process also degrades its taste. Immediately after the water begins to boil, feel free to pour in the drink. Use only finely ground real coffee, as only when prepared this way will it reveal the desired taste.

Now you can add sugar according to your taste. When preparing this way, it is highly advisable to add sugar gradually so that it settles at the bottom and the coffee foam has time to form.

Coffee in a cup

In the book “How to Make Coffee: 68 Recipes - A Collection of Black Recipes,” it is advised not to brew coffee, but to brew it with boiling water in the same way as tea. Coffee is prepared immediately before serving and is served only hot.

The fastest way to prepare coffee is considered to be brewing directly in a thick-walled cup. Sergei Reminny in his book “Interesting About Coffee” recommends using the coarsest grind of coffee (the size of pieces of coarse salt) for brewing in a cup.

To make coffee you need the following ingredients:

  • coffee - 1 tbsp. l.;
  • sugar - 1 tsp;
  • water - 170 ml.

Rules for preparing coffee in a cup:

  1. Pour boiling water into a cup, cover with a lid or saucer. Warm it up for 40-60 seconds and drain the water, as recommended by the author of the book “Coffee, Reishi, Aloe Vera and Your Health” Boris Skachko.
  2. Pour ground coffee into the container. Fill with hot water (80 °C). Pour in a thin stream in a spiral from the center to the edges.
  3. Add a pinch of sugar to the surface of the film to settle the grounds.
  4. Cover the cup with a saucer and leave for 2-4 minutes.
  5. Pour the drink into another cup to separate from the grounds.

The coffee in your cup will be more aromatic if you cook it in the microwave. To do this, place a cup of diluted coffee in the microwave for 3-4 minutes. Turn off the oven as soon as foam rises. Repeat the procedure 2-3 times. At the last stage, leave the coffee until the grounds settle and pour the drink into another container through a strainer.

Important Tips and Principles

In a good cezve, coffee is brewed correctly. If you use any other containers and techniques, you should consider the following factors and can use tips on how to brew coffee without a Turk:

  • The water you use should not boil. Do not pour boiling water over coffee. If you boil it, let it cool for at least 20-30 seconds, so the temperature will be optimal.
  • Due to the narrow neck, the aromas are concentrated inside and foam appears. If the container is open, they will evaporate. Therefore, you can use lids and spices to enhance the flavor.
  • For a brighter taste, you should put about 1.5 times more ground coffee than you put in the cezve, and let the drink sit a little longer.
  • Try to choose a container that is as wide as possible, especially if you are cooking for one.
  • Rinse the cup with boiling water before pouring the drink, this will also help preserve and develop the taste and aroma a little better.

Important Tips and Principles

The only thing you really need besides ground beans is hot water or a way to heat it. Well, and the containers, which we will talk about later.

Filter coffee in a glass

It is convenient to prepare coffee in a thick-walled glass glass. To brew the drink, prepare a coffee filter and a suitable size funnel. For preparation you need the following ingredients:

  • medium ground coffee - 14 g;
  • water - 250 ml;
  • brown sugar - to taste;
  • milk or cream - to taste.

Prepare coffee this way:

  1. Place the glass on a flat surface and place a funnel on top. Place a paper filter in it.
  2. Warm up the structure. To do this, pour hot water through a funnel. Moisten the filter using circular motions. Pour the water out of the glass after 1 minute.
  3. Pour ground coffee onto the wet filter into the funnel.
  4. Pour hot water (95°C) over the top. High-quality coffee is immediately covered with a brown film. The finished drink flows into the glass within 3-4 minutes, and the grounds remain in the filter.
  5. Remove the funnel with the filter and add sugar to taste, milk, and spices to the coffee. Sprinkle grated chocolate on top or top with whipped cream.

When using competent cooking recipes, even in the utensils at hand, the coffee turns out tasty and aromatic. Use the recommendations of experienced baristas and brew incredible coffee without a Turk or a coffee maker.

Preparing milk froth

It’s easy to make delicious coffee without special equipment. Many of its fans prefer a high head of foam, for which I use different devices - for example, a cappuccino machine.

But if you don’t have one, you can use a mixer - manual or electric. Whip 3 percent milk or heavy cream at high speed until stiff foam (cooled in advance). Carefully transfer to a cup on the surface of the drink, decorate with cinnamon or cocoa powder, grated chocolate. Add syrup if desired.

By following simple rules and adhering to certain technologies, you can easily become a barista in your own kitchen, preparing many varieties of delicious coffee, even if you do not have special equipment for this.

Features of preparing different types of coffee without a coffee machine and Turk

Each type of coffee has its own preparation characteristics, and the richness of the aroma and taste of the drink depends on the correctly chosen method. Let's look at the differences in dosing of fresh ground, capsule and instant coffee.

Freshly ground coffee

Traditionally, freshly ground coffee is brewed Turkish or cezve. However, as we saw from our assessment, there are many ways to prepare it. The taste and aroma of the finished drink will largely depend on the selected type of coffee, the degree of roasting and grinding, as well as the recipe. In addition to the cold method, in other cases the constant presence of a person is required to prevent the coffee from boiling and overcooking.

Ground coffee capsules

There is nothing complicated about making coffee capsules. Even if you don’t have a coffee machine and were given a set of capsules, you can still enjoy a cup of aromatic drink. To do this, you just need to open the capsule and prepare coffee using one of the methods described above.

Instant coffee

Instant coffee can be considered the simplest and most unpretentious to prepare. Powder or granules can be filled with water at almost any temperature, from ice water to boiling water. However, despite the variety of varieties and mixtures, an instant drink cannot be compared with a cup of brewed aromatic coffee.

Popular methods

In addition to the listed methods of brewing coffee, there are a number of different techniques that allow you to get a drink without using a Turk.

In the microwave

It is worth dispelling the misconception that it is impossible to brew delicious coffee in a microwave oven. There are two options for preparing a drink in the microwave.

First method:

  • coffee and sugar to taste are poured into the cup, the resulting mixture is filled 2/3 with water;
  • The container should be placed in the oven for 2-3 minutes, observing the growth of the foam;
  • as soon as the foam begins to rise, the oven must be turned off, and after settling, continue cooking;
  • a similar procedure should be done 3-4 times;
  • then take out the cup and let the drink brew, during which time all the grounds will settle to the bottom.

Second way:

  • Fill the mug with water and pour sugar and coffee into it;
  • cover the container with a saucer and place in the oven for 2 minutes;
  • After the time has passed, take out a cup, mix the mixture, and let the thick mixture settle.

Cold brew

It is worth noting that delicious coffee does not have to be prepared using boiling water, because in order for the beans to brew, you can use water at normal temperature.

To brew a drink using the cold method you will need:

  • mug and teaspoon;
  • cold water;
  • coffee and sugar.

The drink is prepared according to this principle:

  • coffee and sugar are poured into the mug;
  • the contents are filled with water based on taste preferences regarding the strength of the drink;
  • Then the drink is covered with a lid or saucer and left to infuse for 12-15 hours.

The features of this method, in addition to the unconventional use of cold water, include the specific taste of the drink. This is due to the fact that the grains were not in contact with boiling water, which means they retained many of the substances that the drink loses when boiled. In addition, cold brew coffee can be stored in the refrigerator for several days without losing its taste.

It is unlikely that you will be able to warm up with a cold drink, but on a hot summer day such coffee will come in handy. To warm it up, you can use a microwave oven or a water bath without the risk of losing the organoleptic properties of the drink.

Japanese method

Another rather interesting way of brewing coffee is a recipe that was first used in Japan. The method is simple, so today it is in demand not only in its homeland. And the drink owes its unusual taste to some mandatory nuances and attributes that are used during brewing.

For preparation you will need the following items:

  • a mug with thick walls;
  • a paper filter; if you don’t have one, you can use a napkin or paper kitchen towels as an alternative;
  • coffee;
  • kettle.

The cooking technology includes the steps described below.

A filter or napkin, folded in several layers, is placed on a cup with a recess in the middle for the powder. A few spoons of coffee are poured onto it; it is better to use the finest grinding beans. Sugar is added to taste. You need to boil the required amount of water in the kettle to prepare a portion of the drink.

It is very important to use purified water without foreign inclusions. The main task is to fill the mug with water through a filter or a homemade equivalent. You need to pour water in a spiral, towards the middle, on average this should take about two minutes

In this procedure, the most important point is to wet all the coffee beans, in which case the drink will be aromatic and rich in taste. Since there is quite a lot of time to pour over coffee, given that the volume of a standard mug is about 250 ml, the stream should be thin and the water as hot as possible. If you do not maintain the specified interval, the grains simply will not brew. After filling the cup, the filter can be removed and immediately enjoy freshly brewed tonic coffee.

Many craftsmen and true coffee lovers make such funnels themselves. For this, as a rule, a plastic bottle is used, the diameter of which will be larger than the cup itself. A part is cut off from it, turned over and lowered into a cup, and a filter with grains is fitted inside. This way you can easily brew coffee, eliminating additional expenses.
