There is no reliable information about the appearance of an unusual, but completely predictable mix. However, there is one legend that suggests some interesting thoughts about the origins of ice cream coffee.
The main “culprit” of the appearance is considered to be the Austrian cook of the Archduke, who prepared coffee for his master. Maximilian I (namely, we are talking about him) simply adored the drink for its combination of taste and aroma, without limiting himself too much in quantity.
On one of the ordinary days, when the cook was preparing the ruler’s favorite drink, part of a dessert of iced oranges soaked in milk accidentally fell into the cup. There was no time to replace the drink and the chef risked presenting the cocktail as coffee according to a new recipe. The ruler received great pleasure from the tasting and invited the chef to prepare such a drink for him more often.
It is unknown how true this story is, however, the recipe for coffee with dessert has survived to this day, although it has undergone some changes. The drink was called “glace”, which means “cold” in French.

Knowing the calorie content of 100 g of milk and its quantity per serving, it is easy to calculate how many “milk” calories are in a cup. You need to divide the energy value of 100 g of product by 100 and multiply by the number of grams (milliliters) used for cooking.
For example, to determine the calorie content of an “average” 300 ml cup of cocktail with 2.5% fat milk, we carry out the following calculations: 52/100*225=177. These are only “milk” kilocalories. The energy value of espresso can be ignored: there are only 2 calories per 100 g. This means that in 300 ml of a latte without sugar there are 117 kilocalories. Calorie content of 100 g is calculated the other way around. 117/300*100 = 39 kcal.

- fat milk (not lower than 3.2%) - 150 ml;
- purified water - 60 ml;
- granulated sugar - 1-2 tsp;

Pour freshly brewed coffee into a cup or tall glass and add thoroughly frothed milk. Wonderful airy foam can only be obtained from heated full-fat milk. The method of whipping does not matter. This can be done manually or with a special foaming agent. A regular mixer will work too.
