Combine spices in a small saucepan:


  • half tsp ground cardamom,

  • the same amount of ginger powder and the same amount of nutmeg (crushed),
  • a little star anise and ground dark pepper,
  • 6 pcs. carnations,
  • a little less than a dessert spoon of ground snow-white pepper,
  • sugar,
  • tsp cinnamon.

After this, they are poured with a glass of water and brewed over low heat for about 7 minutes, covered. Later add 2 small spoons of dark tea and cook for another 3-4 minutes.

In the meantime, the milk needs to be heated. It is best to do this in a coffee maker using a steam wand. But this is where skill comes in handy, because the process is quite troublesome.

If you don’t have a coffee maker, or don’t want to bother for a long time, then you can completely use a microwave and a regular gas stove. The main thing is to make sure that the milk does not burn.

A glass of milk heated to +60°C will come in handy, no more and no less. The finished tea with spices is poured into cups (up to 2/3 of the volume) and poured with hot milk. The real chai latte you get at Starbucks is ready.
